Maritime modernism
The revitalisation of old prefab buildings is one of our specialities. In Stralsund we didn’t use colours, patterns and trompe-l’œil to disguise the architecture. Rather, we emphasised the slab structure by creating the illusion of gaps between the slabs. In addition, the rhythmic arrangement of the windows was used for the new segmentation and loosening up of the solid block. The maritime colour palette symbolises not only the location close to the Baltic Sea, but also stands for the housing association that commissioned the project.
